"Can I add the Annapurna Circuit to the Manaslu Circuit trek? It is one of the most asked questions we hear from adventure lovers, and the answer is yes, you definitely can."

We actually made this separate package that combines the Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit treks. You no longer need to contact a local travel company to customize this combined trek.

Just buy our Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit package and embark on an ultimate adventure in the Himalayas.

The most efficient way to do these two circuit treks together is by starting with the Manaslu Circuit and joining the Annapurna Circuit route in the beautiful town of Dharapani.

The entire trip is 24 days long. The circuit treks in Nepal are usually long, and combining two circuit treks makes this trek itinerary longer.

During the 24 days Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit, you will spend 19 days trekking in the mountains, and the remaining 5 days include arrival/departure from Kathmandu and traveling to/from trailheads.

On the Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit, you will explore the incredible beauty of the western Himalayan range in Nepal. It includes mountains such as Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Naike Peak, Shringi Himal, Himalchuli, Hiunchuli, Boudha Himal, etc.

What to expect during the Manaslu Circuit with Annapurna Circuit trek?

Following less developed, pristine trails of the Manaslu Circuit, you will reach the base camp of the eighth-tallest mountain on Earth.

The trail starts along the Budi Gandaki River bank and gradually ascends the valley through picturesque Buddhist settlements and takes you close to the Tibetan border.

In the end, you will cross the lofty Larkya La Pass and descend to Dharapani via Bimthang and Tilje.

Our Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit itinerary does not include a night stay in Dharapani. However, this is the point where the Manaslu Circuit connects with Annapurna Circuit.

From Daharapani, you will hike to Timang village and continue towards Thorong La Pass via the Marysangdi River Valley. Thorong La Pass is bigger than Larkya La Pass, so expect more excitement and adventure.

Crossing Thorong La, the trail descends north to the Mustang region, offering stunning mountain vistas. Mustang is another very popular part of the Himalayas in Nepal.

You will explore a couple of villages in Lower Mustang that are Kagbeni, and Jomsom, and also traverse the Kali Gandaki Gorge. It is considered one of the deepest gorges in the world. This gorge separates Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri.

You will spend a night at Muktinath Temple and Jomsom, and pass by Kagbeni between these two destinations. Muktinath is a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.

Likewise, you will spend two nights in Kathmandu and one night in Pokhara. As this trip is mainly trek-focused, you can still spend some time exploring these two famous tourist cities.

Why do the Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit - Double The Adventure

Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit are two epic trekking routes. Combining these two trekking routes results in the ultimate adventure in Nepal.

The remote, culturally rich Manaslu Circuit, paired with the classic, scenically abundant Annapurna Circuit, offers a lifetime adventure.

Discover untouched trails, Tibetan refugee villages, vast alpine meadows, and glacier moraines in Manaslu. On the other hand, Annapurna Circuit offers lush valleys, Gurung and Magar villages, green pastures, and iconic mountain vistas.

From the start to the end of the trek, you will enjoy varying scenery, multitudes of vegetation and climate, unmatched hospitality, and a perfect balance of crowded and peaceful trails. You will enjoy almost everything Nepal has to offer.

Though the Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit does not offer views of the famous Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam, you will see many western Himalayan mountains that are even more exquisite.

The other thing that we love about the Manaslu Annapurna Circuit trek is how challenge-focused this trip is. You will traverse offbeat paths while testing your endurance and pushing your limits.

  • Manaslu Circuit: On the Manaslu Circuit route, you will see mountains like Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Naike Peak, Boudha Himal, Himlung Himal, Himalchuli, Kangguru, etc. The trail traverses many steep, narrow paths and landslide-prone areas.
  • Annapurna Circuit: On the Annapurna Circuit route, you will see mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, Fishtail, etc. There are a handful of narrow, steep paths on this route as well. You will also traverse landslide debris while descending from Thorong La Pass to Muktinath Temple.
  • Lower Mustang: Between Mukitnath Temple and Jomsom, you will hike in Lower Mustang. An additional permit or restricted area permit is not required for this section. The views are arid and unlike those of the Manaslu and Annapurna circuits. There are huge rocks, vast meadows, and deep gorges along the trail.

Major attractions during the Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit

  • Lush lowlands and high glacial valleys of Manalsu Circuit: From Arughat to Sama Gaon, you will explore terraced farms, subtropical forests, and river gorges. The trail then goes through pine and rhododendron forests and leads to high-altitude glacial terrain between Lho and Samdo villages. At last, you will walk through glacial valleys between Samdo and Larkya La, enjoying stark, windswept landscapes resembling Tibet.
  • The beautiful Marsyangdi River Valley and Jarsang Khola Valley: Between Dharapani and Manang, you will explore the beauty of the Marsyangdi River Valley. Enjoy cascading waterfalls, lush hills, terraces, and deep gorges. After Manang, you will enter the Jarsang Khola Valley that leads to Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi.
  • Manang’s alpine desert: Manang village welcomes with a dramatic transition in the landscape. Lush valleys change to arid, desert-like terrain. Barren, rocky hills and snow-covered giant mountains are much more prominent.
  • Holy Muktinath Temple and deep Kali Gandaki Gorge: Muktinath Temple shows another prime example of how Hinduism and Buddhism coexist in Nepal. From Muktinath Temple, you will walk through the Kali Gandaki Gorge to reach Jomsom. Known as the deepest gorge in the world, it is also an ancient trade route and home to the Thakali community.
  • Gurung, Nubri, and Thakali communities: Gurungs are natives of the lower Manaslu and Annapurna regions. Nubri are the natives of the Upper Manaslu region, and Thakali are natives of the upper part of Kali Gandaki Gorge (aka Thak Khola). You will also meet with many other ethnic groups.
  • Ancient monasteries & chorten: There are many stupas, chortens, prayer flags, and prayer wheels on the Manaslu Circuit trek with Annapurna Circuit trail. Likewise, you will also visit ancient monasteries such as Pun Gyen Gompa and Braga monastery.
  • The Larkya La and Thorong La passes: The Larkya La and Thorong La passes are definitely the biggest highlights on this trek. These are two 5,000-meter-high passes. Larkya La connects Manaslu with Annapurna. Likewise, Thorong La connects Annapurna with Mustang.
  • Tibetan plateau-like scenery and arid landscapes: The upper part of the Manaslu Circuit is close to the Nepal-Tibet border. Therefore, the landscape is similar to the Tibetan plateau. Likewise, while trekking from Muktinath to Jomsom, you will see arid landscapes that include vast meadows, huge cliffs, and unique rocks.
