You will see the lifestyle and culture of the Sherpa community up close and also explore a few ancient stupas and monasteries, including the Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche Monastery is the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region (Everest region).
It is also the highest point you will hike to during the Everest Panorama trek 10 days. Travelers with limited time who wish to explore the Himalayas from Kathmandu will love our Everest Panorama trek package.
This trek also has a lower risk of altitude sickness, which is the cherry on top. You can do the Everest Panorama trek throughout the year, but March to May and late September to November are the best times, weather and climate-wise.
If this is your first time trekking in Nepal and you are not sure which trek to choose, the Everest Panorama trek 10 days could be an ideal option for you.

We have shared more details about the Everest Panorama trek below, along with daily trekking distance and duration, major attractions, preparation, tips, and several other useful information.
Overall, the Everest Panorama trek is considered an easygoing adventurous trek in the Khumbu region to witness Mount Everest.
What to expect during the Everest Panorama trek 10 days?
During the Everest Panorama trek, you will walk 5 to 6 hours daily. The terrain is not flat but rather ascends and descends through forested hills and valleys. A short flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla.
From Lukla, you will begin trekking. You will spend the first night in Phakding village, which is situated below Lukla village. The altitude gain from Kathmandu to Lukla is huge. So, descending to Phakding village makes it easier to acclimatize.
After Phakding, the trail continues to Namche Bazaar. You will trek through rhododendron and pine-covered hills and cross numerous suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River on the way.
We’ll register our Everest Panorama trek permits in Monjo village and continue trekking to Namche Bazaar. The trail gets steep close to Namche Bazaar. In Namche Bazaar, you will spend two nights.
On your second day in Namche, you will hike to the Hotel Everest View. It is one of the highest luxury hotels in the world and offers a distant but captivating view of Mount Everest. While in Namche Bazaar, we also recommend you explore museums, cafes, and shops.
Many trekkers who do the Everest Panorama trek return to Lukla after Namche, but we will take you to one more village, Tengboche. The view of Everest is much better from Tengboche, and you also get to explore the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region.
The trail between Namche Bazaar and Tengboche passes via Phungi Thenga. You will walk on a flat trail for a bit and descend to Phungi Thenga. From here, walk uphill to Tengboche village.
The view of Mt. Ama Dablam is also excellent from Tengboche. While returning from
Tengboche, you will spend the night in Monjo and Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. This is the summary of our Everest Panorama trek 10 days itinerary.
Now your day-to-day looks like this:
- Wake up and have breakfast.
- Get ready to leave the lodge by 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM.
- You will have lunch on the way.
- The guide will adjust the rest and recovery strategy based on your performance on the mountain.
- Upon reaching the destination of the day, you will check in at your lodge.
- We place the dinner order early, so that it can be ready on time.
- Rest and mingle with your group and other fellow trekkers. Have dinner and go to bed.

The Everest Panorama trail condition and how to navigate safely: expert tips
The Everest Panorama trek route is spread over different altitudes. The trail is well established throughout the way. You will ascend and descend through rhododendron and pine forests, crossing numerous suspension bridges on the way.
The sections between Monjo and Namche Bazaar are steep. Likewise, while ascending to Tengboche village, you will come across a long uphill hike. The trail from Namche Bazaar to Hotel Everest View is also rugged and gradually ascends.
Overall, the Everest Panorama trek route is not challenging to navigate but requires a stable pace, balance, and stamina. Below, we have shared some useful tips:
- Maintain a uniform pace while trekking. It will help you conserve energy and complete the entire day of trekking without exhausting yourself way too much.
- We highly recommend that trekkers stretch at the end of the trek.
- You may come across mules and yaks on the way. In such a case, wait on the hillside and let them pass first. Do not stand on the cliff side and do not disturb the animals.
- Take short breaks to catch breath and enjoy the view.
- Keep yourself hydrated during hiking. Pack munchies and electrolytes for quick energy.
Gear renting in Kathmandu for the Everest Panorama trek, and additional expenses you may encounter during trekking
If you are not committed to trekking and are not interested in buying expensive trekking gear for one trip, consider renting it in Kathmandu. You can rent a sleeping bag, trekking poles, a daypack, a down jacket, etc. Renting gear costs very little and saves you a lot of money.
Similarly, our Everest Panorama trek package covers all major expenses during the trek, including accommodation and three meals a day. However, expenses such as hot showers,
WiFi, and charging are not included in the package cost.
These are your personal expenses, and many cost you around NRP 100 to NRP 500 per use. So, we recommend trekkers to budget some money for personal expenses and souvenirs.
Everest Panorama trek preparation tips (from our expert guides)
- Go on regular walks before the trek begins. Walk with a backpack weighing 5 kg.
- If you already work out in the gym, add cardio to your routine.
- Swimming, cycling, running, and jogging are some of the best cardio exercises to improve stamina.
- Day hiking will be very helpful to you. If there are hiking trails around your home, consider going on a few day hikes to practice uphill and downhill walking.
- Get your trekking boots early and get used to them. You do not want to walk in a brand new pair of trekking shoes. It will give you blisters and make walking painful.
