Can you see Everest from Annapurna Base Camp?

This is one of the most common questions asked about this trek. The short answer is no.

You cannot see Everest from Annapurna Base Camp. The two areas are in different parts of Nepal.

Everest is in the Khumbu region to the east. Annapurna is in the Gandaki region to the west. The distance and the mountain walls between them block any direct view.

But we can assure you that both of the journeys have almost the same thing to offer. You will get to see the giant mountains, people, culture and traditions, ancient monasteries, flowers and many more.

Both need your physical and mental preparation.

However, from Poon Hill, you get a jaw-dropping view of the Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091 m) ranges. It is less exhausting than Everest.

You just need some basic fitness levels.

Many trekkers say this view is even better than anything on the Everest trail. You can give it a try .
